The Origins of Orgonite
Wilhelm Reich & Orgone Energy
Wilhelm Reich (1897–1957) was an Austrian psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, and scientist who studied human energy and emotions. Initially a student of Sigmund Freud, he explored how psychological and physical well-being were interconnected. His research led him to discover what he called orgone energy, a universal life force that he believed influenced health, consciousness, and even atmospheric phenomena.

Reich theorized that orgone energy could exist in both positive (POR - Positive Orgone Energy) and negative (DOR - Deadly Orgone Energy) forms. He believed that trauma, stress, and environmental factors could disrupt the natural flow of orgone energy, leading to emotional and physical illness.

To harness and amplify this energy, Reich created the Orgone Accumulator, a box-like
structure made of alternating layers of organic and metallic materials.
He claimed that sitting inside these devices could boost vitality,
strengthen the immune system, and even combat illnesses like cancer.
Reich also experimented with cloudbusting, using large metal tubes to influence
weather patterns by manipulating atmospheric orgone energy.

His work, however, was highly controversial. In the 1950s, U.S. authorities
deemed his research unscientific, leading to his imprisonment and the
destruction of his books and orgone-related devices.
Despite this, his ideas influenced many, including Don Croft,
who later expanded on orgone energy concepts to create orgonite.

Don Croft & Orgonite
In the late 20th century, Don Croft, inspired by Reich’s discoveries, developed a simplified and more accessible way to interact with orgone energy—orgonite. Unlike Reich’s orgone accumulators, which only collected energy, orgonite is believed to transmute negative energy into positive energy.

Orgonite consists of a mix of resin (organic), metal shavings (inorganic), and quartz crystals, which work together to cleanse stagnant or harmful energy. Don and his wife, Carol Croft, promoted the practice of “orgonite gifting,” placing pieces near cell towers, pollute areas, and water sources to neutralize electromagnetic radiation and improve environmental energy.

Today, orgonite enthusiasts believe it helps balance energy, improve well-being, and protect against harmful electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs). While mainstream science remains skeptical, Reich’s and Croft’s contributions continue to inspire a global movement of energy-conscious individuals.
